How do I know which service is right for me?
You don't need to know exactly which service you need before contacting us. Start by telling us about your goals, current challenges, age or education level, and what you would like to accomplish.
From there, we can help determine whether Business English, academic support, everyday English and communication, or reading and dyslexia tutoring makes the most sense.
How do I know which tutor is right for me?
You don't need to choose a tutor on your own. Our team has different backgrounds and areas of focus, and we'll learn more about your goals and learning needs before helping determine who may be a good fit.
What happens during the free consultation?
The consultation is an opportunity to talk about what brings you to Lori's Language Lab, what you would like to improve, and what kind of support you're looking for.
It's also a chance for you to ask questions and learn more about how tutoring may work before deciding whether you would like to move forward.
Do I need to prepare anything before contacting you?
No special preparation is required. It can be helpful to think about the situations where English, reading, writing, schoolwork, or communication feels most challenging, along with any specific goals you hope to reach.

Our lessons are built around the learner rather than a one-size-fits-all curriculum.
What do you cover during lessons?
Lesson content depends on the learner's goals. That may include conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, academic English, professional communication, or foundational literacy skills.
We focus on the skills that are most relevant to the situations the student is actually trying to navigate.
Do you offer online and in-person tutoring?
Yes. Lori's Language Lab works with students online and also provides in-person support in the Dallas-Fort Worth area when appropriate and available.
Are lessons personalized?
Yes. Students have different strengths, challenges, schedules, and reasons for learning. Lessons are shaped around those individual needs rather than forcing every learner through exactly the same material.
How long will I need tutoring?
There isn't one timeline that works for everyone. Some students are preparing for a particular event or challenge, while others are building skills over a longer period of time.
Your goals, starting point, lesson frequency, and practice outside of lessons can all affect how quickly you progress.
Do you only work with advanced English learners?
No. Because our team supports different ages and learning needs, the appropriate starting point depends on the student and the type of support being requested.
